Gravity Workshop (UoO, November 4-5 2025)

This workshop was hosted on 5th November by Dunedin’s University of Otago, and proceeded a generous dinner of pizza, pasta, and vino at Etrusco.

We had over 20 talks at the Va’a Tautai – Centre for Pacific Health relating to GR, astrophysics, astrostatistics and cosmology! Particularly well received was Laura and Petra’s talk on outreach which explored the various approaches to the scientific method, and engaged us with group tasks intended to demonstrate effective outreach.

A group task on using the scientific method to figure out the structure of a hidden Lego maze.
A famous demonstration of the curvature of spacetime, and orbits in curved spacetime.

After the workshop, students and postdocs went over to The Bog to wind down and enjoy various Irish beers!
